February 11, 1916 ANDRE BUSTANOBY DEAD Restaurateur Succumbs After Operation for Abcess of the Brain Andre Bustanoby, the restaurateur, died yesterday morning in his appartments at The Wellsmore, Broadway and Seventy-seventh street, after an illness of ten weeks from abcesses on the brain. On Wednesday night his condition was so serious that an operation was the only chance to save his life. The relief was only temporary. Mr. Bustanoby was born in Pau, France and was in his forty-fifth year. He came to this country twenty-one years ago and was first identified with the Cafe Martin in University Place, later going to Delmonico's. With his brothers, Louis and Jacques, he established the Cafe des Beaux Arts in Fortieth street and the Chateau des Beaux Arts in Huntington, Long Island. Several years ago, Mr. Bustanoby retired from these restaurants and opened restaurants in Ninety-ninth street and at Broadway and Sixtieth street, and since that time had been connected with these places. He is survived by his wife, four sons, and a daughter.
