| We
Bustanobys listed on the family history project web site are
anxious to meet other Bustanobys we haven't heard of and friends
of the Bustanobys that might be able to add to our historical
overview of the family. Please write me, Newsletter Editor,
Andre Steven Bustanoby and introduce yourself. My e-mail address
is andyb@rivnet.net. Or
you can call me at (804) 462-5559.
I'd like
family already identified on the tree to send a brief biography
(100 words or less) to let us know about you (hobbies, careers
etc.) and include a picture (either hard copy or electronic
photos are fine). Please e-mail it to Web Manager, Mia Glover:
mglover@destination-direct.com
or via snail mail to:

In the
interest of keeping the extended family in touch we'd also
like
to have your e-mail address. Even though we already have the
addresses of many of you we need your okay to put it up on
the web site.
Our Family Reunion- January, 2003
What a fantastic time! As Dawn says, "Smashingly!" Twenty-two of the
extended Bustanoby family were there!
Saturday evening, January 22nd, Lynne Bustanoby Barker and her husband Bruce, opened their beautiful home in Bellevue, Washington to a "mini"
Bustanoby reunion. I call it a "mini" reunion because we have sixty-one names on the family
tree (twelve deceased). With new additions, whom I'll mention shortly, we
have eleven more to add to the tree. You can expect an enlarged tree on
the site soon.
Lynne and Bruce served up some delicious baked and smoked salmon, tasty hors d'oeuvres, some pot luck dishes brought by family, wine, and a
dessert cake made with the Bustanoby Forbidden Fruit cousin, Chambord.
The cake was made by Marissa McKinnon, Elissa Irwin Mowry's daughter and
Lynne's granddaughter.
Those attending besides myself and Lynne and Bruce Barker were Dennis and Elissa Mowry (Lynne's daughter and her husband); Pierre (Pete)
Bustanoby and his friend Jennifer Hopkins; Eleanor "Anne" Bustanoby;
Dave and Denise Bustanoby (my son and his wife); Kyle Bustanoby (Dave's
son, my grandson); Collin (Dave's son, my grandson) and Amber Bustanoby,
Collin's wife; Becci Camp (Lynne's daughter); Holly Irwin (Lynne's
daughter); and Holly's beautiful youngest children, TeoLani and Keanu.
Then there was Jasmine B. Talsma (Becci Camp's daughter); Sean McKinnon
and Marissa R. McKinnon (Elissa Mowry's son and daughter); Zach Kimble,
Becci Camp's friend; and Dawn Bustanoby (Pierre/Pete's daughter).
If you have a problem identifying these relationships, go to the Family Tree page (you're already on the family website). You'll
find everyone there identified by number.
Just before I left for Seattle I received an email from Andrea Jardim (21 on the family tree). Her mother was Lolita Bustanoby Bello Filhoand
her grandmother was Juliette Dolores Lolita Steven Bustanoby Sherwood,
and her grandfather was Andre Jean Baptist Bustanoby, our common
progenitor. I will be putting up a new family tree to include the
eleven new people she tells about.
Should any of you want to communicate with other family members without revealing your email address to just anyone who clicks on the website,
check the message board on the website. It will tell you how to do it.
While I was in Seattle my wife, Fay, got a call from someone who wanted to know if I am the Andre who graduated from high school in 1973 (1948
for me). I have a hunch that it may be Andre Pierre Bustanoby, Pete's
son.
I'll tell you, doing this history with all the Andre's and Pierre's and Lolita's almost drove me nuts! It's almost a shock when I read Andre
Bustanoby's obituary in the family history. News of my demise is
greatly exaggerated!
Should you have any queries by phone, email or in person, let me know. They may lead to distant family we haven't yet met. And let me know of
any other news for the next newsletter. Mia's brother, Stephen, put me
on to a "Bustanhoby" (yes, the spelling's right) in Nevada, but nothing
came of it. But I know they're out there. Keep your eyes and ears
open.
One other thing. What are the chances of a total family reunion in the Seattle area around August or September, 2003? Fay (Nanny) and I
(Poppa) are going to be in California for the wedding of our oldest son,
Steve, around that time. As soon as I can come up with the date we'll
be in California I'll let you know what's good for us. Assuming the
others will be able to take off work, coming your way will be Nanny &
Poppa, Mia Glover and Fred, Pete & Beth Bustanoby, and Jonathan and
Theresa Bustanoby. Whether Pete and Jon will be able to bring the kids
is a question. Of course, the new additions are invited--Andrea Jardim
and family who are in Connecticut and her sister Lolita Maria "Cookie"
(not sure where she is) are invited. I'm raising the idea now so we can
be thinking of when, where, what and the rest of the questions that will
make it a smashing success as the "mini reunion" at Lynne and Bruce's
already reported.
