HER PLEA SAVES SAILOR

Woman Withdraws Charge of Stealing Car- He is Sent to Navy Yard.

Mrs. Demaris Easton Bustanoby, wife of Jacques Bustanoby, restaurateur, met with Magistrate Earl A. Smith of West Side Court yesterday for permission to withdraw the complaint. Edward McBride, 19 years old, a sailor of the battleship Arkansas, was freed ofa charge of stealing her limousine Saturday night, and turned over to the authorities at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

McBride was arrested by Patrolman Tim Kearney in front of a dance hall on Sixty-sixth Street and Columbus Avenue. He first attracted the patrolman's attention by his loud talk and according to Kearney, was under the influence of liquor. When told to leave, he told Kearney he would go and some _____ in a big automobile.

True to his word, McBride reappeared some time later in the limousine and was arrested by Kearney, who checking up on the license number, found that the car had been reported stolen earlier in the evening.

Mrs. Bustanoby told the Magistrate that if the man was a sailor just back from a cruise, and intoxicated, she did not want to press the charge.
