November 21, 1916 RECEIVER FOR BUSTANOBY'S Petition in Bankruptcy Filed Against Owners of 39th St. Restaurant An involuntary petition in bankruptcy was filed in the Federal District Court yesterday against the Metamora Club, Inc., which has conducted the restaurant known as Bustanoby's at 110 West Thirty-ninth Street since 1914. The protesting creditors have claims for merchandise and are represented by the firm of Biso, Zalkin and Cohen. No liabilities or assets were given in the petition. The named concern also runs the Princess restaurant at 1,845 Broadway. It was said that the expense of the Princess had made such a drain upon the resources of Bustanoby's that the latter could not meet its bills. John L. Lyttle was named as the receiver, and he will continue the business for the present. Mr. Zalkin said the owner of the premises had leased the property to others, but that the legality of the lease would be contested. The principal claimants are William H. Mowerson and Son, $274; Julius L. Strause, $100, and A. Goodman & Co., $97. |
