BUSTANOBY WAITERS QUIT

Strike Follows Charges of Theft Made by Proprietors

Twenty waiters, the entire force at Bustanoby's Restaurant at Sixtieth Street and Broadway, went out on strike last night. The restaurant was crowded with diners, and for a short time there was a small amount of confusion. Waiters from the other Bustanoby Restaurant were rushed to the place in taxicabs, and fifteen minutes after the walkout, service went on as before.

The Bustanobys said that the strike saved them from having to discharge the waiters. They said that soon after taking charge of the restaurant, they became convinced that practically one-half of the money taken in was being diverted to the waiters' pockets. The waiters were searched on Saturday night, they said, and it was this that led to the walkout last night.

The Bustanobys added that warrants would be sent out today for a number of the waiters on charges of larceny.
